Families are invited to attend the 22nd Annual Kids Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Bloedel Donovan Park. Free entertainment, food and fun activities for the entire family are the highlights of this popular community event.
Kids' Festival is a popular annual family event that showcases the wide variety of services and opportunities for children in Whatcom County. In 2010, more than 4,000 people visited Kids' Fest. This entirely free event is co-sponsored by Bellingham Parks & Recreation, GAPAC Community Federal Credit Union, and many other local organizations and agencies.
Kids' Festival started in 1989. Last year, when Bellingham Parks & Recreation announced that funding for this event would not be available due to budget constraints, widespread community support for the event lead to GAPAC Community Federal Credit Union, stepping forward with a generous donation to keep Kids' Fest going. GAPAC – which is a founding agency for Kids' Festival - and many other local sponsors have come through again this year to provide a completely free day of activities, games, food, entertainment and community celebration.
A schedule of performances and list of activities that will be offered is
available on the
Kids Festival webpage.
