Customers at the Bellingham Public Library will now find it easier and faster to check out materials using new “Express Checkout” equipment. The computerized system, funded by the City of Bellingham and Friends of the Library, allows customers to check out library materials without staff assistance at easy-to-use public stations. The Bellingham Public Library joins libraries across the nation that are successfully tapping into self-service trends by applying this technology to the 1.2 million books and other materials checked out of the local library each year.
