The City of Bellingham Hearing Examiner will hold a public hearing to take testimony on the following proposals:

1. CUP2012-00003: Conditional Use Permit request to change use from a single-family residence (seven bedrooms) to an Adult Family Living Facility (with up to 12 beds), licensed by the State of WA, located at 3630 Alabama Street, and legally described as Lot 1, Dano Short Plat. Jenny Billings, contact person; Lake Whatcom Center, owner/applicant. Residential Single, Detached Land Use Designation. Alabama Hill Neighborhood, Area 2. 2. CUP2012-00002/DRC2012-00009/WCF2012-00001: Conditional Use Permit/Design Review/Wireless Permit request for six antennas and six equipment cabinets to be located on the roof of Chuckanut Square, located at 1400 12th Avenue, and legally described as Fairhaven Amended Lots 1 Thru 14-N 25 ft of Lots 15-16 Blk 59. Four antennas will be visible on the tallest part of the building, and equipment boxes will be visible over the parking lot on the SW corner of the roof. CUP2012-00005 : Request for a Conditional Use Permit to construct an over-sized single-family residence with a total floor area of 8,367 square feet on a 42,755 square foot lot. The applicant intends to convert a basement crawl space area into finished floor area, which would add 3,025 square feet to the residence. The proposal is located at 1800 Samish Crest Way, and legally described as Samish Highlands Div. 1, Lot 16. Michael and Susan Franczyk, owners/applicants. Residential Single Land Use Designation. Samish Neighborhood, Area 5.

The full applications are available for viewing at the address listed below. Staff reports will be available at the Planning Department approximately one week before the hearing.

You may comment on the proposal by sending written comments to the Planning Department, City Hall, 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham, WA 98225. All written comments should be received during office hours before the hearing, or you may submit them at the hearing if you include an additional copy for the recording secretary. You may also request a copy of the Hearing Examiner’s decision and your appeal rights.
