The City of Bellingham Hearing Examiner will hold a public hearing to take testimony on the following proposals:
Consideration of Variance to side-yard setback to add a mudroom and single-car garage to the northeast (front) side of the house, encroaching 1.5 to 9 feet into the required 30-foot setback from Fieldston Road. The proposal is located 512 Fieldston Road, and legally described as Edgemoor Division #3, Block 3 Lot 4. James and Veronica Douglas, owners/applicants. Residential, Single-Family Land Use Designation. Edgemoor Neighborhood, Area 4.
: Request for a Conditional Use Permit for a liquor license for added privileges to serve wine and beer within an existing restaurant. Conditional Use Permit approval is required to serve alcohol when properties are located in a Commercial, Neighborhood zone. The property is located at 2301 James Street (Avenue Bread), and legally described as First Add to New Whatcom, Lots 11
15, Blk 301. Wendy and John DeFreest, owners/applicants; Joel Tarrida, contact person. Commercial, Neighborhood Land Use Designation. Sunnyland Neighborhood, Area 5.
The full applications are available for viewing at the address listed below. Staff reports will be available at the Planning Department approximately one week before the hearing.
You may comment on the proposal by sending written comments to the Planning Department, City Hall, 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham, WA 98225. All written comments should be received during office hours before the hearing, or you may submit them at the hearing if you include an additional copy for the recording secretary. You may also request a copy of the Hearing Examiner’s decision and your appeal rights.
