The City of Bellingham Hearing Examiner will hold a public hearing to take testimony on the following proposals:
A Variance request from arterial setback requirements for a new, single-family home to be located at 104 47
Street, legally described as Lot 1 and N ½ of Lot 2, Block 14, Plat of Jameson's Bay View Addition. The setback requirement is 30 feet from the northern property line as Consolidation Avenue is a designated arterial street. The applicant is proposing a 10 foot side-flanking setback from property line. Terry Unger, Jepson Engineering, applicant; Alan Kapp, owner. Residential Single, Detached Land Use Designation. Samish Neighborhood, Area 4.
A Variance request to reduce the flanking side-yard setback from 40 feet to 35 feet from the center-line of W. North Street (five feet from the property line) in order to construct a new addition onto the existing single-family residence located at 2533 Cheery Street, and legally described as Lot 10, BLK 7, Eldridge's First Add to Whatcom. The property abuts Cherry Street and W. North Street. Jim DeGolier, Blueprint Design Consultants, applicant; Jeff Reppun, owner. Residential Single, Detached Land Use Designation. Columbia Neighborhood, Area 3.
The full applications are available for viewing at the address listed below. Staff reports will be available at the Planning Department approximately one week before the hearing.
You may comment on the proposal by sending written comments to the Planning Department, City Hall, 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham, WA 98225. All written comments should be received during office hours before the hearing, or you may submit them at the hearing if you include an additional copy for the recording secretary. You may also request a copy of the Hearing Examiner’s decision and your appeal rights.
