Bellingham is not Minnesota, where snow and ice persist throughout the winter. Nor are we Florida, which almost never sees a flake. Like much of the Puget Sound region, we are somewhere in between: an occasional snowstorm that lasts for a day or two is more the norm for our area.
Significant snowfall in an "in-between" area like Bellingham always raises questions about appropriate levels of snow-related services. The City responds according to conditions and priorities.
